Membership Class

Covenanting Together to Fulfill the Mission

Members of Christ's Risen Body Commit

From a biblical perspective, church isn’t just a place we go—it’s who we are. Because of God’s grace, we’re not simply attendees or spectators. We’ve been called, chosen, and declared to be the Church—His living, breathing body in the world.

Membership is not about joining a club or an organization. Here membership is about self benefits. The church is the opposite! God transforms us from being a consumer of goods and services to becoming a provider of His love and care to others. We are a church not for ourselves, but for God's glory and mission!

The membership class is for anyone who wants to follow Jesus and live as part of His family and body. It is for people ready to take the next step and live a life of purpose and mission.

The membership class occurs about 2-3 times a year and will be held on Saturday mornings at 9:00AM. The structure of the class is a small gathering with Pastor Matt including teaching and group discussions. Here you can explore River Valley's beliefs, culture, mission and more—while also enjoying a space for meaningful questions and conversations.

Childcare will be provided for kids up to elementary age.

We’re excited for teens to be part of the Membership Class and believe it can be a meaningful step in their spiritual journey. Since membership begins with surrendering your life to Christ, teens are welcome to become members. However, for clarity, when it comes to major church-wide decisions, only members who are 16 years of age or older are eligible to participate.
