Gospel Communities

One of the ways we grow in deeper fellowship with God and and with each other at River Valley is through small groups that we call Gospel Communities or "GC's" or "GCG's" (Gospel Community Groups). We gather to share life together, hear from God through his Word and to converse with Him in prayer together. We see how God relates to all of life and we center our friendships around Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.

Jesus invites us to follow Him not just on our own, but as part of a community shaped by His teaching. No matter where you are in your journey with Him, if you want to grow as a disciple, it’s essential to stay connected to God and to others through His Word. In a group like this, you’ll build real relationships—where you’ll know others and be truly known. You’ll experience love, encouragement, and the kind of challenge that inspires obedience—not out of guilt or pressure, but as a heartfelt response to Jesus’ love. You’ll be prayed for, and you’ll also grow in how you pray. When you join a Gospel Community, you’re choosing to make your relationship with Jesus a central part of your life.

Gatherings take place once a week or once every other week. Our GCs often run on a school year schedule, but many are year round. You can visit a group to see if it is a good fit, and you're always welcome to try out another one.
